Privacy Policy
Last updated September 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Broctic ("we") handles information in connection with the RegistryRadar apps for iPhone and Android and the RegistryRadar website (together, the "Service"). We designed RegistryRadar to need as little of your personal information as possible. RegistryRadar is an independent service; it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any government agency.
Information we collect
Location. If you grant location permission (only while you are using the app — RegistryRadar never uses location in the background), the app uses your device location to center the map and find public records near you. Coordinates are sent in API requests so we can return nearby records; we do not keep a history of where you have been, build a profile of your movements, or sell location data.
Watched places. If you save a place to watch, we store the label you give it, its coordinates and the watch radius on our servers, so we can tell you when a record near it changes. These are tied to your account, or to a random identifier for your device if you have not signed in.
Device identifier. Without any sign-in, the app creates a random identifier for your installation so it can keep a session and your watched places. It is not your advertising ID and is not linked to your name.
Optional sign-in. You never need an account to use RegistryRadar. If you choose to sign in — with Sign in with Apple on iPhone or Sign in with Google on Android — we receive the account identifier the provider gives us and, if shared, your email address. Your name, if the provider shares it, stays on your device. We use this only to keep your watched places and subscription with you across devices.
Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We receive the transaction or purchase token and verify it with Apple or Google to confirm your access; we never receive your payment card details.
Notifications. On iPhone, if you turn on alerts, we store your device's push token to send watched-place alerts. Alert text never contains names or addresses.
Inaccuracy reports. If you flag a record, we store the report category, the record ID and any note you write, so we can reconcile it against the originating registry.
App usage. The app sends us product-usage events — for example that onboarding was completed, which screens and plans were viewed, and whether a trial or purchase started — with the app version, platform, operating-system version, language and region. These are tied to the device identifier (and to your account if you sign in) and are used only by us to understand and improve RegistryRadar. They are processed by our own analytics service; we do not use advertising SDKs or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Diagnostics. Our servers keep limited technical logs (such as IP address, request time and error rates) to keep the Service secure and reliable.
How we use information
We use information to operate the Service: to show registry records near a location, to keep your watched places and alerts, to maintain your account and subscription, to respond to support requests, and to improve reliability and accuracy. We do not use your information for advertising and we do not sell it.
Offender registry data
Records shown in the Service — including names, addresses, offense summaries, and photos when published by the source — are public information from official government sex-offender registries, and each record links to its official source. We are not the source of this information and are not affiliated with any government agency. Photos are fetched server-side and proxied so your device does not contact registry hosts directly. Using this information to threaten, harass or harm anyone is prohibited and may be a crime.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service — cloud hosting, Apple and Google for sign-in and payments, and Apple for push notifications — and only as needed to provide it. We may disclose information if required by law.
Security
Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Session tokens are kept in the iOS Keychain or in Android Keystore-encrypted storage on your device.
Deleting your data
In the app, open Profile and tap Delete Account (signed in) or Delete My Data (not signed in). This deletes your account, watched places, alerts, push token and purchase records from our servers straight away. You can also request deletion without the app at registryradar.app/delete-account or by emailing [email protected]. Deleting the app alone does not delete server-side data. Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in App Store settings (iPhone) or in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions (Android). We retain information only as long as needed to provide the Service or as required by law.
Your choices
You can use RegistryRadar without signing in, deny or revoke location permission in your device settings (you can still search any address), and turn notifications off at any time.
Children
RegistryRadar is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
